Some additional notes:
Withdrawal at: When the withdrawals start. If the first withdrawal occurs on the day the annuity begins, select “start-of-period,” otherwise select “end-of-period.”
Compound frequency: If the compounding frequency is not specified by the annuity documentation, or you do not know it, select the same value as “withdrawal frequency.”
Step values: The amount by which the x-axis and y-axis values increase from their initial values. For example, if you set the “initial interest rate” to 5% and you set the “rate step value” to 0.5%, then the calculator sets the second interest rate value (x-axis) to 5.5%.

Annuity Matrix Help
On the “Withdrawal Amount” tab, you calculate a matrix of possible periodic withdrawal amounts for a specific starting amount (PV). The calculator varies the withdrawal term and the interest rate for the annuity (or investment account).
The “Present Value” tab calculates a matrix of starting amounts (the present value) that are required to support a specific withdrawal amount. The matrix shows results for different terms (number of withdrawals) and interest rates. In other words, it shows how much you must start with for your investment to last for “X” withdrawals at various interest rates.
The “step values” on either tab control the increments by which the interest rate and the term increase.
Note: It is not necessary to clear one calculation before running the next calculation. You can change one value and then recalculate.
